Introducing the 2026 University of Notre Dame

student readers!

The Australian Short Story Festival is delighted to welcome the next generation of short story writers as they share their powerful short fiction.

Saturday 28 November 2026, 5pm, at the Tannock Hall lecture theatre.

Luca Di Tullio is a Literature & Writing student at the University of Notre Dame, and an aspiring writer whose work – particularly in poetry and short prose – can be characterised as a blend of Modernism and Realism.

Abigail Marra is an emerging writer with interests in philosophical fiction, feminist theory and scholarship, and academic writing. Her creative work employs satire and social criticism to interrogate dominant hierarchies and entrenched social conventions.

Hugh Michael O’Dea is an aspiring teacher at the University of Notre Dame. Although he is just beginning his writing journey, his passion for storytelling has always been deeply embedded in his life’s journey.

Therese Topliss is a current third-year education student and budding writer. She is an avid performer and is beyond excited to share some of her work at this year’s Australian Short Story Festival.
