Robert Skinner is the founding editor of Australia’s greatest (and possibly only) short story magazine. He worked for several years as an outback tour guide before moving to Melbourne, where he helped start The Canary Press in an elaborate attempt to avoid doing the dishes. Over ten issues, they published new and local writers alongside the likes of Jim Shepard, Margo Lanagan, Miranda July and Annie Proulx.
Robert’s own writing features regularly in the Monthly. He also enjoys poems, football, chasing things (trams, dreams, balls), spectacular failures and yelping in the shower.
